How to Use Sitemap Checker?
1. Open Netpeak Spider and find Sitemap Validator
First of all, you will need to open Netpeak Spider and find an XML Sitemap Validator in the ‘Tools’ drop-down menu. Then click on the XML Sitemap Validator to validate xml sitemap. Alternatively, you can press the ‘Alt+X’ hotkey combination if scan speed is a priority.
2. Paste the Sitemap.xml URL and Start Scanning
Before you can start searching for issues with an existing sitemap you will need to paste the path to the Sitemap.xml file in the field in the top-middle part of the main screen. After you have successfully added the path to the Sitemap.xml simply click the ‘Start’ button in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Find the Sitemap.xml data
After the scanner finishes analyzing your sitemap, you will be able to see the URLs included in the sitemap you have selected. Likewise, the sitemaps changefreq, lastmod, sitemap priorities, and loc attributes will be listed in the sitemap tester lookup results. As a neat QoL feature, you can conveniently sort them by clicking on the attribute type at the top of the table.
4. Analyze Sitemap.xml issues
If you need to verify or analyze the report in further detail, you can do that by selecting the appropriate attribute at the top side of the scan result table of the issue viewer panel. On the right side of the screen, you will be able to see all the warnings and issues associated with the listed URLs of your Sitemap.xml.
5. Download the Sitemap.xml issues report
Next up, if you need to transfer the report from one computer to another or simply want to share it with another person Netpeak Spider has an export feature. Once you are done scanning for warnings and issues in your Sitemap.xml file, simply click on the ‘Export’ button located in the top left side of the program window. Alternatively, you can use the Export Tool to test sitemap when needed.
