How SEO agencies can find and generate leads using Netpeak Spider and Checker
Use Cases
Search engine optimization is one of the most popular techniques of website promotion, so the SEO industry is quite competitive. Every SEO agency has a task — find, get, and retain a client. There are loads of ways of finding and attracting clients, however, in this post I’m going to tell you how to do that using our tools — Netpeak Spider and Checker.
This method can be used whether you’re looking for your first client, or if you already have a successful agency with a good client base.
- 1. Define a niche of your potential clients and collect keywords
- 2. Find leads from search results using ‘SE Scraper’ tool in Netpeak Checker
- 3. Gather important data about websites and contacts
- 4. Prepare an audit of potential client’s websites
- 5. Make an interesting partnership offer
1. Define a niche of your potential clients and collect keywords
Begin by defining a niche of your potential clients. As an example I will search for car parts websites. Using this phrase, gather keywords using special services, such as Serpstat, Ahrefs, Semrush etc.
Export this list, but clear the irrelevant queries beforehand.
2. Find leads from search results using ‘SE Scraper’ tool in Netpeak Checker
When you’ve collected a list of keywords, that you’ll use to find necessary websites, now you can start scraping search results using Netpeak Checker:
- Open the program and head to ‘Scraper PC’ tool window (this feature is available to the users with Pro subscription)
- On ‘Queries’ tab, enter the keywords: you can upload them from a file or just copy and paste them to the field
- On the next tab ‘Settings’, you need to choose the search engines that the program will scrape, as well as the necessary number of search results.
- If you need to define a region, you can do that in the ‘Search engine’ settings tab..
- Press ‘Start’ to start scraping.
- Once you’re done, press the ‘Transfer hosts’ button → this way, only domains will be transferred to the main table.
3. Gather important data about websites and contacts
In the main table, look at the list of websites and delete the irrelevant ones: to do that just right click on the URL and in the context menu press ‘Delete URL’.
Next turn on these parameters on the side panel:
- «On-Page» section → email-addresses and phone numbers
- In the parameter group ‘Website traffic’ check all the parameters → this way you can get the data on the website traffic with the channel breakdown, as well as find out the main country, where the traffic comes from, and the main theme website’s category.
Website traffic estimation in Netpeak Checker is available in the Pro Plan, which also includes export of the reports to Google Drive/Sheets and search engines scraper. Want to get access to these PROfessional features? Click on the button, subscribe, and get the best insights!.
- Check the ‘Date of creation’ parameter in the ‘Whois’ section
- Launch the analysis with the ‘Start’ button
After the end of analysis, learn and explore the results. You can group them by niche: to do that just drag the name of the column to the top left corner above the table.
Also, It will be useful to filter the domains by registration date, to see which websites are relatively young, and which ones have existed for a long time. It’s better to focus on younger websites first, because it’s more likely for them to accept the offer of collaboration. ‘Oldies’ are more likely to have a working partnership with other agencies, so getting them as clients is going to be harder.
Upload the results to your computer → to do that you need to press the ‘Export’ button which is on the right of the top panel. Separate potential clients from the rest, and then proceed to the next step — website audit. You need it to evaluate the technical optimisation of the website and form an interesting and individual offer, which we’ll talk about later.
4. Prepare an audit of potential client’s websites
Open Netpeak Spider, in which you need to insert the list of domains you want to analyze (just copy it from the table and paste it into the program window by pressing CTRL+V), and then:
- Open the ‘Main’ settings tab and turn on the multi-domain crawling → this feature allows you to scan multiple domains at the same time (available in the Pro subscription)
- Choose ‘Default’ template on the side panel and start scanning by pressing ‘Start’
Once the crawling is done, you can try this workflow: in the ‘Overview’ tab choose the ‘Host’ parameter, click on one of them and press ‘Use as segment’ — this way you’ll be using the set of data and report only with a specific host (domain).
Explore the issues and reports really well for each host. The data you’ve received will help you make a presentation and show clients the weak spots right in the PDF report with SEO audit, which is available in Netpeak Spider. To add branding to the PDF report, open the ‘White label’ settings tab, upload the logo and enter your contact data:
If you need to, you can add your comments e.g. what should be improved, what is your work plan to do that.
To upload the report, click on the ‘SEO Audit’ button in the top right corner of the program.
Get Pro subscription and feel the might of PRO-crawler
And if you've already got a Standard license, but you're dreaming of Pro-plan, all you need to do is to upgrade your subscription 😉When your insightful reports are ready to present to your leads, you can move on to making an offer.
5. Make an interesting partnership offer
Every potential client has a chance to get more profit from the organic search. Your task is to show and tell them about their weak spots and how to fix them. And to do that you’ve got the help of Netpeak Spider and Checker reports.
Let me show you several examples of the offers you can send to your potential clients.
Example 1. Comparing to the competition
Make a comparison of website traffics of your potential client and their competitor in the Netpeak Checker. If you see a big difference, highlight it to a potential client. Example:
Hi! My name is [name], from the [name] agency.
I’ve analyzed the search traffic of your website and the ones of your competitors. Currently its share is 14,7%, while your competitors have more than 30%. They’re significantly ahead of you.
I’ve got a couple of ideas that can help you get more traffic and catch up with your competition!
Our agency has already successfully helped other ecommerces of different niches to get more traffic and improve their positions and ranking.
[Here you can list other benefits of your agency, write about guarantees etc. ]
Can we discuss my ideas about the improvements this week?
Respectfully,
[name], [agency name].
